With the country in quarantine as we try to control the COVID-19 pandemic, local business is suffering. Now more than ever, it’s important to support local restaurants, and we’ve listed a handful of New Orleans restaurants that are open for delivery and pick-up. They may have a limited menu and business hours, but they are doing their best to provide their delicious dishes during this trying time.
Besides, there’s only so much cooking you can handle. So give the oven a break and support one of these local New Orleans restaurants serving up some of their signature dishes.
If you’re in the mood to sink your teeth into some delicious BBQ, head on over to the Central City BBQ Facebook page where you can stay up to date on where they’ll be serving brisket, pork, ribs and more. This week, they’ve been posted up at St. Catherine of Siena and also 1202 S. Rampart.
The folks at Cowbell on Oak Street are still happy to cook you that delicious burger you’re craving, so give them a call. They’ve limited their menu, but burgers, fish tacos, and their signature macaroni and cheese are just a few of the tasty items on the menu available to go.
You can still start your morning with creative donuts from the folks at District Donuts. They’ve limited their menu during this time, but they still offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner for delivery and carryout.
This local legend is offering both carry-out and delivery through D’Livery NOLA, so you can still pick up some of your favorite dishes like gumbo or a fried shrimp po’boy.
Craving a po’boy? Then give Liuzza’s by the Track a call. They will deliver to anyone in the Mid City area, but you can also order to-go and pick it up yourself.
The Sneaky Pickle just recently reopened after a devastating fire back in May, and they could use your love now more than ever. Their menu changes daily, so be sure to check out their Facebook page.
Red’s Chinese has some of the most unique and creative Chinese food in the city, and they’ve just expanded their delivery area during these quarantine times. Their cheeseburger fried rice is incredible!

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. An Instagram ad caught my eye during a late-night scroll session and I was intrigued by the colorful compartments and versatility of the bag, which can be carried as a duffle or as a backpack (I prefer the backpack for even weight distribution and airport navigation.) Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. New Orleans is no stranger to the paranormal, that’s for sure. Our more than 300-year-old city comes with a ghostly tale or two from just about every building in the French Quarter. If you’re a believer in the spiritual realm, then you may want to pay a visit to Muriel’s Jackson Square, a haunted restaurant in New Orleans, for an unforgettable dining experience.

Located in historic Jackson Square, Muriel’s has been a popular French Quarter eatery since it opened in 2001.
The carriageway at Muriel’s dates back to the 1700s, and many believe that it was used to hold slaves when they came off the boats, leading many to think that there are still a few troubled spirits left to wander the carriageway.
One of the most popular spirits is that of Mr. Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan.
Mr. Jourdan purchased the property in the late 1700s after the Great New Orleans Fire destroyed many buildings in the area, including a portion of this particular mansion.
Jourdan spent the next few years building the home of his dreams.
Until one night in 1814 when he wagered his dream home in a poker bet. He lost the hand, and was faced with losing his home. Rather than see his beloved home in the hands of someone else, he tragically committed suicide in the home. It’s believed that he killed himself in the same area where the Seance Lounges are situated (pictured above).

So if you find yourself in this area and feel something you can’t explain, it might just be Mr. Jourdan checking in.
Patrons and employees have had many unexplained phenomena over the years.
Believing that Mr. Jourdan never left his dream home, the folks at Muriel’s welcome this old spirit and always keep a table reserved for Mr. Jourdan. You can even reserve the “ghost table” for yourself. Mr. Jourdan doesn’t seem to mind sharing the table.
