Some of the best restaurants feature meals that often remind you of someone else's cooking. There's nothing better than sitting down to a home-cooked meal, especially when you're not the one cooking. If you're up for a scenic drive, hop across the Causeway and over to Hambone, one of the most delicious hidden gem restaurants near New Orleans.
Welcome to Hambone, a delightfully charming little cottage tucked away in Old Mandeville that's been around since 2018.
Located just steps away from Lake Pontchartrain, the neighborhood eatery has a lovely outdoor seating area that’s perfect on a beautiful day.
Play a game of table tennis while you wait on your food. Kids of all ages will love the play area to release some energy before it’s time to chow down.
When it comes to the menu, be prepared.
From weekend brunch to hearty dinners, these savory dishes will have you thinking you’re at grandma’s for supper.
While they have a menu full of their signature dishes, they also have several blue plate specials. Served Tuesday - Friday, each day is something different, like country fried steak, pot roast, or yummy shrimp & grits.
They’re always cooking up something special, too. Pictured below is one of their daily specials, boudin grilled cheese. Yes, please!
