From the historical to the downright delicious, there are dozens of restaurants in New Orleans that have caught the attention of the media. 1. Commander’s Palace
Featured on shows like Delicious Destinations and America’s Best, this historic restaurant has been around since 1880, making it one of the oldest restaurants in the city. 2. Creole Creamery
Known for their unique ice cream flavors, it’s no surprise that this iconic ice cream parlor has caught the eye of television shows like Man vs. Food and Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. 3. Deanie’s Seafood
One of the best places to get seafood in the city, Deanie’s has been around for over 50 years. 4. Jacques-Imo’s
This eclectic restaurant over on Oak Street has been featured on programs like Best Thing I ever Ate, No Reservations, and Food Paradise just to name a few. Their Creole soul food is out of this world, and you’ll quickly fall in love with this quirky joint. 8324 Oak St., New Orleans, LA 70118.
5. The Joint
BBQ lovers, this one’s for you. The Joint has been serving finger-licking good BBQ since 2004, and they’ve won numerous awards for their BBQ. In 2012, Guy Fieri stopped by in 2016 and couldn’t get enough of their delicious BBQ sauce, and after one bite you’ll understand why. 701 Mazant St, New Orleans, Louisiana 70117.
6. Cafe du Monde
This iconic coffee shop has been around since 1862, and has since expanded from its French Market destination to other locations around the city. 7. Mother’s Restaurant
Tucked away on Poydras Street, this iconic eatery has been around since 1938. Serving home-style cooking that will soothe your soul, it’s no wonder this restaurant has been featured on the Food Network. 401 Poydras St., New Orleans, LA 70130.
8. Parkway Bakery and Tavern
They’ve been serving up some of the best po’boys in the city for over a century, and if you’ve never tried one, you’re missing out. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly and it’s so worth the wait. 538 Hagan Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119.
9. Willie Mae’s
Known for their fried chicken, this locally owned and operated restaurant has been delighting locals and tourists alike for decades. Featured on shows like Food Paradise and Unique Eats, this is one restaurant that should go on your bucket list. 2401 St Ann St, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119.
