Lecompte is a small town in Louisiana just south of Alexandria that’s easy to overlook, but it’s home to one of the most delicious hidden gem restaurants in the state. Conveniently located off us US-71, Lea’s Lunchroom is a popular pit stop for both locals and road trippers looking to fill up on good old-fashioned country fare.
Lea’s Lunchroom has been around since 1928.
It's still family-owned and operated nearly a century later, and Lea’s has become a tradition for many traveling north/southbound.
This historic country restaurant has a nostalgic feel to it.
The perfect pit-stop on a long road trip. Pull up a chair and get ready!
Lea's features daily plate lunches full of southern flavors.
From red beans and rice to chicken fried steak, every day is something different.
Of course, the ham sandwich is the most popular dish on the menu.
Lea Johnson perfected this sandwich in 1928 and it’s still on the menu today.
But the real stars of the show at Lea's are the homemade pies.
These pies are made from scratch every single day.
From the crust up, these beauties are made using secret family recipes that date back to 1928.
There's something special about knowing that a slice of Lea's pie in 1935 tastes the same as enjoying a slice today.
Take a bite out of tradition, one flavor at a time!
Lea’s offers several different flavors, available by the slice or you can buy the whole pie.
Flavors include pecan, apple, peach, cherry, coconut meringue, chocolate meringue, and seasonal flavors like banana and pumpkin.
Lemon meringue is the most popular.
Lea's Lunchroom is open for breakfast and lunch six days a week.
Hours of operation: Tuesday - Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
You can order your own pies online by visiting Lea's website, and don't forget to give them a follow on Facebook so you never miss out on the latest plate lunch. If you've ever indulged in a pie from Lea's, share your experience with us in the comments!
