Every now and then, it can be a delight to treat yourself to an extraordinary lunch. When you’re in the mood to splurge, there’s no better option than Commander’s Palace. One of New Orleans’ historic Grand Dame restaurants, this iconic blue building has one of the most delightful lunches in the city, and the quarter martinis are just the cherry on top.
Nestled underneath canopies of ancient oak trees in the picturesque Garden District, Commander’s Palace has been a landmark for New Orleans since 1893.
That blue building is iconic as far as New Orleans architecture is concerned.
Known for creating extraordinary Creole dishes in an elegant space, Commander’s Palace is the perfect restaurant when you’re celebrating a special occasion.
They’re also known for their incredible Jazz Brunches. If you have the opportunity to experience a Jazz Brunch, take it. Offered on Saturdays and Sundays, Commander’s Palace offers a special brunch menu along with live New Orleans Jazz by the Joe Simon’s Jazz Trio.
While this historic eatery may be the hot spot for dinner and weekend brunches, lunch might just be the best time to visit.
Lunch is available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. till 1:30 p.m.
The lunch menu is full of specialty dishes plus several signature Commander’s dishes, like their famous Turtle Soup.
It's a rite of passage for New Orleanians.
They have a “dirt to plate with 100 miles” policy, meaning that their goal is for 90% of their ingredients to come from within 100 miles of their door.
When you’re talking about local ingredients, it doesn’t get much better than that.
When you order one of their entrees, you have the option of getting a martini for only .25 cents!
Now that’s a deal.
That’s right. For only a quarter, you can sip on one of their specialty martini cocktails.
Choose from a classic, cosmopolitan, melon, or their signature Commander’s Blue martini.
Don’t get carried away through. There is a 3-per-person limit with this deal.
It is lunchtime, after all.
Remember to save room for dessert, because their bread pudding souffle is another one of their iconic dishes you just can't pass up.
Just remember to order it at least 20 minutes in advance. Perfection takes time!
