Here at Only In Louisiana, we definitely have a soft spot for mom-and-pop restaurants and specialty shops. We search high and low to find the best hidden gems we can find to your fingertips, and this incredible family-owned restaurant down in Mermentau might just be one of our very favorites of all time.
Don't be fooled by the simplistic exterior. Contained within these walls at C'est Bon Restaurant is some of the best Cajun and American fare you'll find in all of Louisiana.
C'est Bon has been around since August of 1986. Back then, they served just the basics of Cajun cuisine, such as po' boys and boiled crawfish.
However, news of the deliciousness spread, and this little family restaurant became a local legend.
Over 30 years have passed since those days, though, and they've since acquired a larger building to support their ever-increasing fan base.
When you walk in, you'll be greeted by an amalgamation of positively mouth-watering smells.
The scent of the cooking spices and delectable dishes is as much a part of the atmosphere as the decor.
Locals know that if they want the best boiled seafood around, they'd better head out to C'est Bon Restaurant.
They don't just serve lunch and dinner - breakfast is available until 10:00 a.m., so make sure to check in early sometime.
Their rave reviews from happy guests never fail to mention the to-die-for gumbo and crawfish dishes.
They also usually mention "the best boiled seafood ever," and we're inclined to agree.
C'est Bon is open six days a week, on Monday through Saturday.
Make sure to stop in on Wednesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for exquisite specials like boiled blue point crab (season permitting) and king crab legs.
They don't have a homepage, per se, but they're available on Facebook if you'd like to check out their menu and hours here.
