We all know Kentucky is not known for its tropical climate, but that doesn't mean we can't experience that same vibe at many places throughout our state. If you love the idea of heading to the tropics without leaving the Bluegrass State, you're in luck. We previously featured the tasty oasis that is Flamingo Row in Paducah, but there's another tiki bar paradise in Northern Kentucky at the Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club. This floating tiki bar and restaurant has the colorful tropical atmosphere that feels just like vacation and it's the ultimate spot for every Kentuckian to spend a summer day.

Located right on the river in Ludlow, Kentucky, the Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club (or LBYC for short) is a local favorite bar and grill that floats on the water.

Its tropical feel makes it the only true tiki bar in the area and the ultimate summertime destination.

LBYC can be reached by road or river, and when you arrive you'll hop aboard this floating tropical paradise.

It may be the Ohio River instead of the beach, and it may be the breeze off of the Ohio River rather than the ocean, but it's about as close as you can get to a tropical vacation in the Bluegrass.

The covered interior area of the restaurant truly has a tiki bar atmosphere that carries out to the outdoor patio space.

The Yacht Club is basically a large, floating bar and grill that welcomes everyone who is looking for a relaxing meal.

It's family-friendly, especially during the day and on weeknights, but has more of a lively bar feel on weekend nights. You'll often find live music and other events going on throughout the summer, as well.

If you're cruising up and down the Ohio River, the Yacht Club is the perfect place to stop for a meal and a drink.

You can tie up to the restaurant and then walk right up to the tiki bar, place your order, and be back on your boat as quickly as you like.

But once you take a seat on the deck, you'll probably want to relax and stay awhile!

The food at LBYC is quite tasty and includes everything from sandwiches to freshly grilled meats.

LBYC offer nightly menu specials throughout the week. Steak Night Mondays are particularly popular!

If you thought you had to drive for hours or buy an airplane ticket to experience a floating tiki bar this summer, think again.

Instead, head to Northern Kentucky and the Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club for a fun-filled tropical dining experience.

The restaurant is open Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. It is a seasonal location, so be sure to follow along with them on Facebook (linked below) to know when they'll wrap up the season this year.
