This little shop is humble about everything, except its claim by naming itself Best Donut. But after you try one, you'll see that they're actually telling the sweet truth.

Best Donut is located on East Broadway in the town of Campbellsville and is a popular local spot for a sweet breakfast. They also serve savory options, so really it's a one-stop-shop when it comes to starting your day off right.

While the exterior of the shop is a bold red and yellow, the inside is humble and welcoming. It's a great place to treat the kids to donuts, gather with friends, or utilize their drive-thru for a bag of your favorite donuts.

The donuts and other offerings are made fresh each day, and if you're lucky, you'll even get a warm donut to enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea. They have all of the classics and a few with their own delicious twists.

Along with the regular-sized donuts, donut holes are a favorite here. You can buy them individually (who would want just one?), but we recommend going for a dozen.

The chocolate version is a must-try and something you can't find everywhere. If you're looking for something sweet, but not a typical donut, they also serve cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, and more.

Their fruit twists and flaky croissants are also favorites, and add even more variety to this one-of-a-kind donut shop. You'll find more options here than most other places, and the fact that it's locally owned and obviously run by those passionate about the community is just icing on the... donut.

If you absolutely must have a savory meal when you visit, Best Donut has you covered for this as well. They have sausage rolls, biscuit and croissant sandwiches, and hard-to-find Kolaches, which are incredibly delicious.

Everyone deserves a donut now and then and Best Donut is the place to indulge. The shop is open every day from 4:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., but keep an eye on their Facebook page, linked below, for any changes.
