Wholesome restaurants are full of great food, kind people, and plenty of hospitality to go around. Of course, that's just a normal occurrence in Kansas. These wholesome Kansas restaurants are sure to leave you feeling at home as well as leave you feeling full. Have you been to all nine of these amazing restaurants?
1. Alma Bakery & Sweet Shoppe - 118 W. 3rd, Alma, Kansas
Though your parents most likely told you not to have sweets for a meal (or even before your meal) but it's hard to resist when the treats here look like this! Tasty pastries and lunch items are both served here, and I recommend getting anything on the menu.
2. Beethoven's #9 Restaurant - 2 W Piankishaw St., Paola, Kansas
Beethoven's #9 is a classic restaurant with some absolutely amazing food. Everything from jager-schnitzel to fried ravioli is on the menu, and it's all worth a try.
3. Hungry Mann's Cafe - 220 U.S. 56, Galva, Kansas
Hungry Mann Cafe is just what it sounds like. An amazing cafe for hungry people that want to fill their bellies. However, the fried chicken buffets here will do more than that. It'll not only fill your belly, but have you trying to sneak some home for later.
4. Buster's Saloon - 104 Main St., Sun City, Kansas
Buster's is a new restaurant to me, but they've got some of the best steaks around for sure. Plus, it's got some of the best breakfast to boot. Maybe you should stick around and keep coming back for more?
5. Monsoon Indian Grill - 2040 SW Wanamaker Rd. suite 104, Topeka, Kansas
If you're a lover of Indian cuisine, you'll find that a buffet full of it is the best place to be when you're hungry. It's filling, and the staff here have always been such a treat.
6. Pig In Pig Out - 1003 E 13th St. N, Wichita, Kansas
When it's time to pig out, there's no better place than Pig In Pig Out. If you're a barbecue enthusiast, there's no reason you should pass this place by.
7. topp'd - 3934 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, Kansas
Topp'd might look like the opposite of a down home, friendly restaurant. However, look past the steely exterior to find some of the best tasting, customize-able pizza you've ever tried. Oh, and Nutella s'mores calzones are a real treat as well.
8. Al's Cafe - 101 Berry St., Lost Springs, Kansas
Al's Cafe doesn't sound like your average Mexican restaurant, and it stays true to that. All the classic dishes you'd expect, except made with extra love and care. On top of that, is a lot of cheese and sauce.
9. Ad Astra - 318 Cottonwood St., Strong City, Kansas
Ad Astra is a Kansas restaurant both in name and style. You'll find some of the best people serving some of the best food here at this classic restaurant.
The only thing more wholesome than these restaurants are small towns in Kansas full of businesses (and people) just like these. Where's your favorite small town place to be? Comment below with your suggestions!
