All of those things come together at this one restaurant that used to be a simple railroad station but has evolved into something much more. It's a new restaurant in Winfield, and they've created their entire space in and around an old railroad station. They've been making great progress since they opened up in April of 2017.

Once the owners, Rob & Janet Carroll (and their daughters) found out the building was up for sale, they snagged it up, leading to one of the best restaurants in town.
After three years of work put into it, the restaurant opened with great success and has recently hit 100,000 customers served at the beginning of 2018.
They've put their own twist on things, but with plenty of decor paying homage to the building's roots.
They serve small dishes as well as full dinners, which means you're always going to find something no matter what you're in the mood for. Everything from fried sausage, to soup and steak is served here at Shindigs.
It's an amazing place to take your family for a night out, especially if you're in the neighborhood.
We think it's a great place to add to your 2018 bucket list, but we think once you've gone once, you'll keep coming back for more.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. An Instagram ad caught my eye during a late-night scroll session and I was intrigued by the colorful compartments and versatility of the bag, which can be carried as a duffle or as a backpack (I prefer the backpack for even weight distribution and airport navigation.) Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. Welcome to the historic Wolf Hotel in Ellinwood, Kansas. It's a beautiful spot for dinner and a room to stay in for the night, but we're here for what's underground.
Ellinwood is known for having underground tunnel systems used up until the 1940s. Many were part of an underground city full of brothels, bars, gambling, an other places of business, both legal and illegal. The tunnels have lasted into present-day, and some of them run under the Wolf Hotel.
The hotel was built in 1894, with underground tunnel rooms included. Those rooms underneath the hotel were many things over the years, including Joe's Snack Counter, a sample room, a library, a gym, and more.
The Wolf Hotel has turned this underground room into a secret saloon, with a password and everything. The password changes nightly or weekly, and it allows you to get into the bar.
During normal operation, the Underground Saloon is open nightly on the weekends. But during the week, you can enjoy the restaurant or bed and breakfast upstairs. It's a real treat!
