If you're like me, you find that there's nothing better in this world than a good, stick-to-your-ribs meal from a down-home diner. Lucky for us Kansans, we have plenty of delicious ones to choose from, including:
1. Gella's Diner & Lb. Brewing Co. (Hays)
With a wide variety of delicious German and American cuisine (and award-winning microbrews), it's no wonder Gella's Diner & Lb. Brewing Co. tops our list!
2. Commercial Street Diner (Emporia)
What the storefront lacks in frills it makes up for with their made-from-scratch breakfast and lunch selections!
3. Friendly Cooker (Wamego)
This place lives up to it's name: the folks are friendly and their cook can COOK! Hearty breakfasts and lunches await you at this dining gem in the Flint Hills.
4. Jimmie’s Diner (Wichita)
Big greasy burgers and a 1950s ambiance? They don't make them like Jimmie's anymore (but we wish they did)!
5. Corkie's Diner (Salina)
Word to the wise: Save room for dessert--because you do NOT want to miss out on a slice of Corkie's homemade pie.
6. Cookees Drive-In (Pleasanton)
Whether you dine-in or drive-through, Cookee's has the goods to satisfy any appetite!
7. Penny's Diner (Wellington)
Get your kick's on Route 66... and your breakfast at Penny's, which is located along the famed highway.
8. Pusan Diner (Junction City)
Not the kind of food you'd expect from a diner, but some of the best Korean food in the state! Order the ran goons. (You can thank me later.)
9. Bob's Diner (Liberal)
Old school diner with good, old fashioned diner food--Bob's is a must visit!
10. Karen's Kitchen (Newton)
Come for Karen's famous club sandwich; stay for the gourmet coffees and specialty desserts!
Which Kansas diner is your favorite? Tell me in the comments!
