Consider it a start, because we'll have more restaurants for you before you know it. If you've never tried these restaurants, it's time to get out there. If you just haven't been there in a while, it's time to go back! Let 2019 be about exploration.

1. Buster's Saloon — 104 W Main St., Sun City, Kansas

Buster's is a stellar place to eat, especially if you love meat. Their bbq is something special, and the sides can't be beat. Check them out sometime!

2. Aunt Netters Cafe — 336 Elmore St., Lecompton, Kansas

Aunt Netters might make the best cupcakes around, but what about her lunch fare? No matter what she's serving, the food is always tasty and the service can't be beat.

3. BRGR Kitchen - 4038 W 83rd St., Prairie Village, Kansas

BRGR might sound a little fancy, but make no mistake, you can be as casual as you like here. If you've been waiting to try something new, now's the time.

4. The Burger Stand at The Casbah - 803 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, Kansas

Speaking of something new, all the hubbub about the Burger Stand is totally true. Their burgers are amazing, and the fries are equally addictive. Next time you're in town, you know where to go.

5. Beethoven's #9 Restaurant - 2 W Piankishaw St., Paola, Kansas

Even if you haven't been excited about German food in the past, these German-derived dishes are something special. You've never craved schnitzel before, but you will after tasting this one.

6. Cy's Hoof and Horn - 425 N Commercial Ave., Sedgwick, Kansas

Cy's Hoof and Horn continues to rise in popularity as the best place in Kansas to get chicken fried steak. We're not sure if they are the champion of that one yet, but we do know that they're worth every mile to visit.

7. 715 Restaurant —715 Massachusetts St., Lawrence, Kansas

Another restaurant that looks more fancy than it is, 715 serves all types of people. Their food is so good that you'll forget you're not at a country diner for a little while.

8. Taco Lucha — 1130 Moro St., Manhattan, Kansas

Some of the best tacos you'll ever come across in Kansas are served at Taco Lucha. They like new and exciting twists on the regular, but they aren't afraid to go traditional where it counts.

9. Gella's Diner — 117 East 11th St., Hays, Kansas

This diner isn't your 50s style vinyl seats diner, but instead it's a great restaurant with food like this paired with even better brews. What more could you want?

10. All Slabbed Up BBQ — 405 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, Kansas

Of course any list in Kansas would have to include BBQ, and this year's main pick is All Slabbed Up. Whether it's a secret ingredient or great technique, they've got bbq down pat.
