Guess what season it is?! If you answered summer, you're dead wrong...because it's really ice cream season, of course! Beat the Kansas humidity and heat with these 9 ice cream shops that will make your sweet tooth happy.
1.) Aunt Jean's (Shawnee)
With fun and unique flavors like root beer, cranberry orange, and dill pickle, it's no wonder Aunt Jean's is an eastern Kansas favorite!
2.) Churn & Burn (Wichita)
What do you get when you mix fresh brewed coffee with made-to-order ice cream? You get the full Church & Burn experience, of course! Order a scoop of one of their delicious pre-made ice creams, or custom make your own -- you're the boss as Churn & Burn!
3.) KSU Dairy Bar (Manhattan)
A favorite among K-State students (for good reason), KSU Dairy Bar offers farm fresh eggs, milk, and (of course) fresh churned ice cream.
4.) Sylas & Maddie's (Lawrence)
Generous portions, amazing flavors (hello, blueberry cheesecake!), and locally owned? Sounds like the recipe for one dreamy dessert!
5.) Bogeys (Salina)
As I mentioned in the burger post, Bogeys holds a special place in my heart; partly because my husband and I's first date was there, but mostly because their ice cream is perfection.
6.) Paciugo Gelato (Overland Park)
Three words: Maple Caramelized Bacon.
7.) Paleteria La Reyna (Wichita)
Paleteria not only whips up creamy confections, but tasty Mexican cuisine as well.
8.) Braum's (Various Locations)
What they lack in television commercials (they haven't produced a new one since 1984), they make up for in cones, shakes, and frozen yogurt.
9.) Spangles (Various Locations)
It really does taste better (especially for a statewide chain)!
