Do we all agree that one of the best parts of the holidays are all the lights that shine throughout the town at night? There's so many places around the state to see beautiful lights, but none compare to this one. Bring your car full of family and friends, and come check out this amazing drive-thru light show in Kansas.
Welcome to The Arc's Lights, a beautiful display of over a million lights strung up in all sorts of shapes and colors for your viewing pleasure.
2018 is the 22nd year they've put on this magical show, with plenty of volunteers making these lights by hand and put everything together for the best part of the year.
The Arc also puts on other events throughout the year, but this display of over a million lights is by far the most beautiful.
My favorite part is the tunnel, where strings of lights blink and change colors, making this drive-thru light show extra beautiful.
If you have a car with a sun roof, this is the perfect time to turn off the heater and really enjoy the magic that holiday lights can bring.
Every year, the entrance fee or free will donations go directly towards programs serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They have both donation nights and admission nights, so you can plan your visit accordingly depending on your budget.
The entrance is at the intersection of Douglas and St. Paul in Wichita, and it's open from Thanksgiving night to December 28th.
Mondays through Thursdays are 5:30 to 9 p.m. as donation nights, Fridays and Saturdays are 5:30 to 10 p.m. as admission nights, Sundays are 5:30 to 9 p.m. as admission nights as well. Christmas Eve is a donation night, open from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. to make things extra special.
Feel free to use this handy map below to help you find your way around Wichita, if needed. Have a happy holidays! I can't wait to see the lights myself this year.
