We love burgers and fries as a country, not just a state, and Kansas has plenty of cows to go around. Many of our favorite foods include beef, but this American classic is one that we're a little more picky about.

We've picked out some of Kansas' favorite burgers & fries style joints in the central and eastern area to add to your bucket list, since traveling time is almost upon us. Let's go!

1. Bomber Burger - Wichita

Bomber burger is one of those places that's a little shabby, but the food is so good you don't really care what it's served on. It's worth a stop, but make sure you have plenty of room for their monster burgers.

2. Buster's Burger Joint - Wichita

Buster's makes messy, sloppy burgers that are arguably one of the best you've eaten. Fresh cut fries make a great pair, and help soak up everything that's dripped off of the burger as you ate.

3. Stacy's Restaurant - Junction City

Stacy's might be a great spot for breakfast, but if you arrive around lunchtime, have no fear. Burgers and fries await you, and they're plenty tasty for a small diner like this.

4. J's Carry Out - Emporia

J's is one carry out that you'll want to stick around for a while, even though they don't really have the room. The food makes you feel right at home, and you'll find yourself routing road trips through here just to stop by.

5. Smitty's Carry Out - Kingman

If you've ever been through Kingman, you've probably passed by this carry out, and missed out on their juicy burgers and friendly staff. However, add this spot to your bucket list and you'll soon be in flavor heaven.

6. R-B Drive-In - Hutchinson

R-B is one drive-in that you'll find their retro style is perfectly paired with these retro style burgers and hand cut fries. Who could pass up something this delicious?

7. King's Sandwich Shop - Iola

King's is a small spot that's often forgotten when it comes to burgers and fries, but some of the best leave these doors every day.

8. Lucille's Diner - Louisburg

Lucille's is one place that's full of both comforting food and comforting people. It's a great place to relax with your meal, but also meet locals that make your visit here a dream. The burgers and fries here are just as amazing as the rest of the town.

9. Bobo's Drive In - Topeka

This Topeka staple has been serving burgers, fries, and other standard sides for years, and even Guy Fieri himself stopped by to enjoy their food for himself.
