1. Harry's Restaurant - 418 E Poyntz Ave., Wareham Hotel, Manhattan, Kansas

This amazing restaurant in Manhattan is often overlooked in favor of the next big thing. However, leaving it behind means leaving behind some amazing fish and other gourmet eats you can't get in many places. Save up for a special night and treat yourself!

2. Exit 14 Restaurant - 512 Maple St., Gypsum, Kansas

This amazing little restaurant serve Pan Fried Chicken dinners on the first Sunday of every month that'll keep you coming back for more. They're open from 11am-2pm from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch, and open for 5pm-9pm dinners from Thursday to Saturday.

3. Stroud's Fairway - 4200 Shawnee Mission Pkwy., Fairway, Kansas

Stroud's is famous for their amazing home style meals, but their cinnamon rolls by far are my favorite reason for stopping by for a meal. Of course, you'll find that you run out of your first basket, so make sure to order some to take home when you're done. They're great as tomorrow's breakfast!

4. Rosedale BBQ - 600 Southwest Blvd., Kansas City, Kansas

BBQ is sacred in Kansas City, so we're no stranger to savory and sweet sauce all over our favorite meats. Rosedale is a great example of homemade barbecue and a restaurant that loves to give big portions when needed.

5. Dutch Kitchen Restaurant - 6803 W State Road 61, Hutchinson, Kansas

There's nothing that warms a Kansan's belly more than chili and a cinnamon roll, and both can be found here as well as plenty of other tasty dishes. You'll soon find out that this kitchen cares a lot about their customers, and treats them like family up until you get your bill.

6. Third Street Bakery - 729 3rd St., Phillipsburg, Kansas

Just the sight of these sticky rolls already makes me want to hop in the car and head to Phillipsburg. This bakery makes delicious treats of all shapes and sizes, and everything from fried chicken to shrimp.

7. Roy's Hickory Pit BBQ - 1018 Nickerson Blvd ( Aka 5th Street) Hutchinson, Kansas

Another great barbecue joint in Kansas, Roy's really serves up juicy meat and an amazing sauce to pair it with. They've been around since 1982, and show absolutely no sign of stopping.

8. Netherfield Natural Farm - 24126 Kansas 7 Highway, Fontana, Kansas

This place might not be a restaurant, but it's an amazing bed and breakfast that deserves a spot on this list nevertheless. You'll find that a stay here is well worth the time away from home and the food that greets you in the morning.

9. Down Home Family Restaurant - 1515 N Penn Ave., Independence, Kansas

There's nothing that makes you feel more at home than a meal that could have been made by your family. This restaurant in Independence is worth the travel time, where each bite reminds you of years past and the simple yet delicious meals from your childhood.

10. The Swedish Crown - 121 N Main St., Lindsborg, Kansas

This spot in "little sweden" (we mean Lindsborg) is a highlight of any trip to the town. Finish off a day looking at Dala horses and local crafts with a meal that'll have you coming back for more.

11. Smoked Creations BBQ - 222 E Logan St., Ottawa, Kansas

Not only can this amazing barbecue joint dazzle your tastebuds in-house, but you can also order mobile service or have them cater your even and even cook on site. Oh, and by the way, their pork loin is incredible.

As a bonus we also think you'll love this Kansas restaurant that was once a railroad station, but now serves great food in a great atmosphere.
