The tiny town of New Virginia, in Warren County, has a population of fewer than 500 people. It's not typically high on anyone's "places to visit in Iowa" list, but that's because nobody knows about the hidden gem that's nestled in the Iowa countryside - Miss Spenser's Tea Room at Longview Farms.
Miss Spenser's Special-teas Tea Room is located on Longview Farms, at 3220 Wyoming St., New Virginia, IA 50210
The farm is also a B&B, where guests can spend their getaway enjoying a peaceful, working farm.
Miss Spenser's tea room is run by a mother and daughter, Donna and Spenser Hardin, who have dedicated the last decade to recreating a British experience.
Nobody knows British tea culture better than the Hardins, and you'll recognize the authenticity as soon as you sit down.
Each afternoon tea is a full meal, served in small bites just like they do in England.
You'll want to take your time while you sip and snack on savories, sandwiches, scones, and sweets all created by Donna and Spenser.
This is not just an ordinary tea room - they're award winning! The tea room's victorian sponge cake placed third in the Iowa British Bake Off last year.
Miss Spenser's Special-teas tea room is available by reservation only, though they do host open events throughout the year.
Plan your visit to the most charming tea room in Iowa by checking out their Upcoming Events, or get more information on reservations by calling 641-342-1547.
While you're in farm country, you might want to take a detour to spend some time in nearby Greenville, which we named as The Iowa Town In The Middle Of Nowhere That’s So Worth The Journey. Make a full day out of tea, and exploration!
