You may not know this, but Iowa is home to Le Mars, the ice cream capital of the world. Wells Enterprises, Inc. was started in 1913. It's the largest family-owned and managed ice cream manufacturer in the United States and is the maker of Blue Bunny ice cream, which is based in Le Mars. The Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor and museum is a great place to visit for an afternoon of delicious summer fun with the whole family.
Le Mars is the self-proclaimed ice cream capital of the world.
While the actual Blue Bunny facility doesn’t offer tours, the Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor is home to a salvaged marble ice cream bar and staircase.
There are also plenty of historical photos in a museum upstairs from the shop, as well as a gift shop.
Every year, Le Mars hosts Ice Cream Days, with a parade, art in the park, live music and much more.
The Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor offers plenty of delicious flavors that you can enjoy on a variety of cone choices.
