There's just something about water views that makes a good drink taste even better, which is why I always love to find a great winery or brewery with a waterfront view. Well, there's one spot in Iowa that does that one better - it's an actual floating lounge, located on a pier in the middle of a small lake in Corning. This unique waterfront winery in Iowa is called The Floating Vine. A replacement for the old Corning Winery, it's quickly become a hot spot in this small town since its 2023 opening. There's a truly impressive selection of wine and spirits here, plus a surprisingly extensive food menu. It just might be the best place to spend a summer evening in Iowa, so read on to discover why this will be your next favorite spot!

The Floating Vine was put together in winter 2023, and it's now the premiere cocktail lounge in the Corning area.

One of my favorite things about Iowa is how wide open it feels at times. You can leave one of the big cities like Iowa City, travel less than half an hour, and find yourself at a bucolic farm in the countryside. That's the case with Walker Homestead Farm and Winery, located on the outskirts of Iowa City and serving up some of Iowa's best wine amid a beautiful setting. But that's not the biggest draw here - this charming farm is home to what might be the best farm-to-table dinner in Iowa, celebrating local produce and seasonal ingredients. But there's a catch - the beloved dinner tradition only takes place once a week on Thursday night, making it one of the toughest reservations in town to score. The dinners only take place during the warmer seasons, and this year, they started up on March 21. Read on to discover why this is a meal on the farm you won't want to miss!
