For children of the 1980s, the thought of arcades brings back fond memories - so many hours and so many quarters gone playing pinball, air hockey, and those old-fashioned game cabinets. Well, in Davenport, Iowa, the management of Analog Arcade Bar has turned back the clock. There's just one difference - this arcade is 21 and up only, and the bar is dishing up mixed drinks that go perfectly with your next round of Pac-man or Skee-Ball.
During the day, the building holding Analog Arcade Bar might look like it's all business - but at 4:00 p.m. on weekdays and noon on weekends, the adventure begins.
As soon as you approach the doors, the sounds of old-school video games fill the air and send you back in time.
The arcade bar is filled with classic pinball machines, right down to all the ping-pong sounds of the ball echoing against the sides.
You'll find arcade games old and new, some based on the most popular gaming franchises of all times.
You'll even find modern arcade shooting games - perfect for finding a partner and blasting away at some pirates.
Old-school games like table hockey and skeeball are also available, if you're looking for more of a workout.
For an extra dose of nostalgia, the arcade has a corner with a video game console and some classic cartridges. Fire up the Nintendo 64!
But this is an adult playground, and it has one big edge over Chuck E. Cheese's - a very adult bar complete with a selection of beer and cocktails.
And it wouldn't be an arcade without some snacks, so chow down on the reasonably-priced selection of eats as you game.
