Forget Napa Valley, we have something better: The Iowa Wine Trail! Get a taste of well-crafted wines, ciders, and even hooch at these 10 beautiful wineries and vineyards in Iowa. Although not all of these are on the wine trail, they are all worth a visit!
1. Madison County Winery, Saint Charles
This area is also home to the beautiful bridges of Madison County, so when you're done admiring those, head to the Madison County Winery for a delicious, local glass of wine.
2. Stone Cliff Winery, Dubuque
Located in the gorgeous and historic Dubuque Star Brewery building, this winery is the perfect place to go with a few friends for a glass of wine and some delicious food.
3. Barrelhead Winery, Dubuque
Barrelhead Winery is known well for their educated staff, who really know their wine and their wine tasting. If you get a chance to visit, check out their dry red.
4. Park Farm Winery, Durango
Park Farm Winery is located in a very scenic area, so this is a great place to go to relax with a glass of wine and take in the view.
5. Tabor Home Vineyards & Winery, Baldwin
Tabor Home is popular for their beautiful old barn, friendly staff, and fun, live music events. This is a great spot to spend a summer evening with friends.
6. Cedar Ridge Winery, Swisher
This is a really popular spot for wedding receptions, and the venue is very nice. It's also a really popular spot on Friday nights for pizza and live music - a great place to go if you're a mover and a shaker.
7. Brick Arch Winery, West Branch
After checking out the Hoover Presidential Library, take a trip over to the Brick Arch Winery. It's located in a re-purposed old building, and they have some really good wine. The Honey Bee is a popular pick, or the Tire Swing.
8. White Oak Vineyards, Cambridge
White Oak Vineyards is another popular wedding and reception venue, and they have some pretty delicious wine. Make sure to put this on your list of places to visit this summer.
9. Eagles Landing Winery, Marquette
Eagles Landing is a must visit for any wine lover, and it's on the Wine Trail, so if you take a tour you can't miss it. They have some of the best wines in Iowa, and they are located in a very charming, historic river town.
10. Summerset Winery, Indianola
Summerset produces award winning wine from locally grown, central Iowa grapes.They offer tastings, tours, as well as private events like weddings or showers. If you go here, you have to try the mead. It's delicious, and made from local honey.
