Indianapolis has quite a few restaurants that have stood the test of time, with a couple even dating back to the 1800s and still in their original locations; however, it’s this restaurant and bar that happens to be the city’s oldest and most iconic:
Slippery Noodle Inn is located downtown at 372 S Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46225.
It was established in 1850 and was orginally known as The Tremont House.
The bar and restaurant are housed in the oldest commercial building in the city.
The ceiling dates back to 1890, while the beautiful oak bar is over 100 years old.
In 1963, the bar officially began to use the moniker Slippery Noodle Inn.
It has been a blues-themed bar ever since, hosting legendary music performances.
Today, it’s a major blues venue in the Midwest.
It’s a place for great fun, tasty food, stiff drinks, and fantastic music.
Anytime you’re downtown, you should make a stop at this timeless Indianapolis bar and restaurant. Enjoy a meal and an important piece of Indy history.
