Sometimes, you're in the mood for something classic. You'd like to go out to eat, but you're just not feeling the idea of some modern, hip, farm-to-table kind of joint; no, this time you crave something simple. Something, as we said, classic; well, we found a delightful little mom-and-pop joint in Fort Wayne that probably couldn't be more perfect for just such an occasion. Visit this amazing retro diner in Indiana for a culinary experience that's both comforting and delightful; it doesn't get better than our favorite classic places to eat in Indiana, and Cindy's Diner is the definition of classic.
Since 1952, Cindy's Diner has been serving up the best of breakfast, lunch, and dinner classics (or should we say diner classics).
You'll find it in Fort Wayne, right on the corner of Harrison and Wayne; believe it or not, this is not its original place. It was originally opened on Clinton and Jefferson, then eventually moved to Clay and Berry, and then, finally, moved again to where it sits now - and where it will probably remain.
It won't take long for you to figure out why this little hole-in-the-wall has been a beloved staple of this little city for several decades.
The service is warm and friendly - just what you'd expect from somewhere like this - and the menu has more than enough amazing options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert to go around.
Sidle on up to the counter and make sure to order in a timely manner - this diner only seats 15 people, and there's almost always a wait.
It's not hard to understand why; classic diners like Cindy's are becoming more and more difficult to come by, and this particular one just so happens to serve up some of the best comfort food in the entire Midwest (and that's saying something).
You can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu; try the giant onion rings, the breaded tenderloin, or maybe a ridiculously juicy burger with crispy fries on the side.
The diner hasn't always been called "Cindy's". It's been called "Paul's Diner" and "Marge's Diner", but we think it's living its best life now, don't you think?
It's almost never slow here.
Cindy's Diner is well-known in Fort Wayne for being one of the downright best breakfast options in town, and if you ever find yourself craving an old-school experience with an old-school menu in an old-school place, this is it.
Of course, even if you're not hungry, there's always another amazing reason to visit: coffee.
ALL the coffee.
For the most up-to-date hours, info, and menus (which honestly haven't changed in decades), be sure to visit the official Cindy's Facebook page.
