If you're sick of eating at major chain pizzerias like Papa Johns, there's a gourmet pizza chain with locations all throughout the Hoosier State you must try. Using the freshest ingredients of any chain restaurant, these shops put out some incredible pies your tongue will never forget.
When you're looking for a casual, low-key eatery with food that will blow your mind, try this one out:
Greek's Pizzeria has been in business since 1969 when the owner, Chris Karamesines, opened his first location in Valparaiso at the young age of 17. Since then, he has started more than 140 restaurants throughout several states, 24 of which are currently Greek's Pizzerias in Indiana.
The name of this gourmet pizza chain is derived from the owner's heritage. Karamesines was born in Chicago to Greek immigrants who became well-known for their delicious food. He opened his first restaurant when he was 14 years old before deciding to study pizza.
Karamesines' studies included visiting pizzerias around the world, and it certainly paid off. These pies look good, but they taste even better. It's no surprise the dough and sauce are homemade and that the cheese is a unique and delicious blend. You'll become addicted after just one bite.
While you can always create your own pie, there are several specialties you may want to consider. Enjoy taco pizza, chicken cordon blue pizza, a house special, and even a pizza that is made to taste like chicken wings.
Other menu items include appetizers like homemade bread sticks, garlic french bread, and salads. You can also get wings, pasta, and a plethora of sandwiches like meatball, Stromboli, or sweet and spicy chicken.
This incredible gourmet pizza chain sometimes goes by the name Pizza Forum. These restaurants are typically a bit larger with space for big families as well as arcade games and televisions. Regardless of the name, it's still the same great food.
The hours of these pizzerias vary by location, but most are open daily for lunch and dinner.
