1. Mug-n-Bun, Speedway
Mug-n-Bun is an old-school delight sure to please everyone in the car. It's been around since 1960, so the kind folks here know a thing or two about good food and good service. Try the chili dog with the legendary Coney sauce. You will not regret it.
2. Port Drive-In, Chesterton
The legendary staple known to Hoosiers as The Port Drive-In has been serving delicious traditional diner fare in a drive-in setting since 1953. There's a reason it's been around so long: everything about it is pure perfection. We're kind of obsessed with the mac-and-cheese hot dog. Trust us - it's glorious.
3. Gene's Root Beer and Hot Dogs, Anderson
Gene's Root Beer and Hot Dogs is one of those places you'll find yourself longing for during a long work day. Founded in 1964, Gene's knows its way around, well, hot dogs and housemade root beer. We don't know about you, but they had us at "root beer."
4. Bonnie Doon Drive-In, Mishawaka
The legendary Bonnie Doon Drive-In is the oldest entry on this list, having been established in 1941. For some of the best fast food and drive-in fare in Indiana, you're going to want to make time for this one. The ice cream is glorious, but so is everything else on the menu, so good luck choosing.
5. Bo-Mac's Drive Inn, Shoals
Yes, it's supposed to be spelled like that. Bo-Mac's Drive Inn can be found in Shoals, Indiana, a small town where there isn't much going on save for a couple of amazing restaurants (and Jug Rock). Bo-Mac's is definitely one of those restaurants; you can't miss it.
6. The Tasty Freeze, Montezuma
One of the younger entries on this list, The Tasty Freeze in Montezuma was established in 2001. We're hopelessly in love with the chili dog, to-die-for juicy burgers, and pretty much everything else we can get our hands on. Bring your appetite; you'll need it.
7. Ray's Drive-In, Kokomo
Last on the list (but certainly nowhere near last in our hearts), Ray's Drive In is famous for having some of the best breaded tenderloin in Indiana, among other things. When they say "It pays to eat at Ray's," they mean it. We promise.
