If you were to ask some random somebody anywhere in the nation where they thought some of the best restaurants were, I bet that not a lot of folks would think of Indiana right away. This is, however, a bummer, because it just so happens that we've got some AMAZING restaurants in Indiana that are 100 percent worthy of a day trip just to indulge in. Take, for example, somewhere like The Elm, an incredible upscale eatery in Bloomington that just made the Best Restaurants in the U.S. list for 2023 - a perfect example of a perfect experience.
The Elm is so much more than "just" a lovely restaurant in downtown Bloomington; it's an experience.
It all started when a local couple decided to craft the perfect place for get-togethers of all sorts, from community gatherings to first dates, birthdays, anniversaries, and even just because. After all, food brings people together - which is a mantra the place takes quite seriously.
Every dish is as beautiful as it is delicious - even down to the drinks.
Take your pick from deliciously luxurious steaks and chops, seafood, salads, desserts, and small plates. The presentation is sure to be impressive.
If you're not up for steaks, there's always seafood, and if you're not up for seafood, there's an assortment of additional options you're sure to love.
It's not every day you get to experience eating somewhere like The Elm, but once you've done it, I suspect you'll want to show up more often.
Part of the culinary experience is absolutely the plate presentation - and The Elm nails it every. Single. Time.
There's nothing you can order that you won't enjoy; there are no wrong choices, no wrong answers - just the right place and the right time for deliciousness.
The vibe is modern and eclectic without feeling stuffy or stiff.
The waitstaff is amazingly trained and ready to answer just about any question you have about the menu, from the best wine pairings to all the latest cravings and bestsellers.
It's definitely no surprise as to why USA Today named The Elm one of the best restaurants in the US - and it's much deserved!
This place is one of those spots you'll just have to experience to understand... and you'll want to experience it time and time again! Do note that reservations are highly recommended.
