Illinois is the land of scrumptious eats, and bacon is one of the many things we know how to do right. There's a little-known food challenge in our wonderful state that is like nothing you've ever seen before.
This breakfast meat is perfect anytime of day, and there's a restaurant that proves it. Check out this amazing eatery.
Famous for bacon and beer, Paddy Long's in Chicago is a pilgrimage you must make if those food items go hand in hand for you. The eatery has been in operation since 2007 and has both indoor and outdoor seating as well as take out options.
The restaurant is open daily from about 11 a.m. to 2 or 3 a.m. and features a full bar, high tables, wood floors, and historic decor. You'd never guess the most epic food challenge was here.
This is The Bomb, and it typically serves six to eight people. Those who choose to take on the challenge have 45 minutes to complete this beast by themselves, and winners receive a t-shirt and their picture on the wall in addition to the free meal.
This fabulous creation is constructed from five pounds of ground sausage, made from pork and beef, and then wrapped in a weave of brown sugar bacon and slow cooked in a pig roaster.
Other menu items include beer battered bacon strips, bacon burgers, and other specialties in addition to a beer and bacon tasting menu.
