Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. An Instagram ad caught my eye during a late-night scroll session and I was intrigued by the colorful compartments and versatility of the bag, which can be carried as a duffle or as a backpack (I prefer the backpack for even weight distribution and airport navigation.) Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. Born in Kagoshima, Japan, Nanako pursued her passion for pastries at Nakamura Pastry Technical College. Her skills brought her to O‘ahu in 2006, where she played a pivotal role in launching La Palme D’or at Ala Moana Center. By 2008, she had carved a niche as the pastry cook at Halekūlani in Waikīkī.
The year 2017 marked a new chapter for Nanako when she and her family relocated to Hawai‘i Island. Initially, she intended to acquire an existing bakery. However, the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic led her to pause her plans. Reflecting on her journey and aspirations, Nanako soon established her own bakery.
