Looking for the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon in Georgia? How about a place that will provide locally sourced wines to compliment your view of the North Georgia mountains? We know, we know — it sounds too good to be true. However, we’re lucky to live in a state that has vineyards and wineries that we can visit whenever we get the itch, and this spectacular vineyard is absolutely worth the visit.
Currahee Vineyards in Toccoa, Georgia is a wonderful winery and vineyards where you can taste a variety of wines that are locally grown.
The wines from Currahee Vineyards have been cultivated since 2008 when Marvin Dunson began to contemplate using the family farm to grow grapes — the farm was located at the base of Currahee Mountain.
The very first wine produced at Currahee Vineyards was a sweet red muscadine. Since then, the wine selection has grown to 12 different varieties.
Not to mention, one of the highlights of visiting Currahee Vineyards is their slushy wine mixers, which offer a refreshing way to relax during those warmer Georgia months.
Visiting Currahee Vineyards is so much more than just wine tastings — you’ll also be able to enjoy the live music on weekends and the food trucks which are featured throughout the calendar month.
Guests can explore the vineyards, indulge a picnic lunch, taste some unique wines, and take in all the magnificent views.
Enjoy the tasting room with your closest friends, or snag a sip of those wine slushies…
…but make sure to check out the calendar of events at Currahee Vineyards to make the most out of your visit.
