We have a lot of great breweries in Georgia, and one of our favorites is one that's fairly new to the scene. Located in the small city of Commerce, just north of Athens, is a little place called Strange Duck Brewery. This colorful, family-friendly brewery in Georgia offers up loads of fun, a putt putt course, food trucks, live music, trivia nights, and, of course, delicious brews!
Strange Duck Brewing is tucked away in Commerce, a small town about 20 minutes outside of Athens.
Athens is such a great spot for a weekend getaway in Georgia and Strange Duck is one of many places right outside the city that are worth checking out.
The brewery's name represents both the founder, Drake Scott (a drake is a male duck) and his penchant for oddity. Strange Duck opened in the spring of 2020 and has already found much success.
There's a great putt putt course outside, and the brewery has a family-friendly atmosphere that's perfect for those looking for an outing everyone can enjoy.
Variety is the spice of life, and you can find a variety of beers on tap here.
The choices rotate regularly, so there's something new every time you visit!
If the weather's too hot to enjoy the patio outside, (or a round of mini golf), you can always opt for inside the tasting room.
There's often a food truck parked on site, and weekends usually mean live music.
This may be newer than most of the breweries in Georgia and not nearly as well-known (yet), but it's definitely worth a visit!
