In fact, the largest restaurant in Georgia, which can accommodate up to 800 diners, is none other than the fan-favorite restaurant chain and iconic Atlanta hotspot - The Varsity. Did you know that this fast-food haven was so darn big?!

The Varsity in Georgia is the largest drive-in fast-food restaurant in the entire world.

The main restaurant in Atlanta takes up two whole city blocks, with a multi-level car park accommodating 800 diners.

Established back in 1928, this fast-food Mecca is still a fan favorite, not just for visitors, but also for residents, too.

While the inside of each of the locations might not be too big, it’s the outside that is where it earns its title as the largest.

As you can imagine, being able to accommodate so many hungry patrons, it can get quite busy, especially during dinnertime.

What sets The Varsity apart from other fast-food restaurants is the food - hot dogs smothered with homemade coleslaw, three different types of grilled cheese, and of course, 16 different kinds of ice cream, which pair perfectly with fried peach pie and fried apple pie.

There's no shortage of impressive restaurants or beautiful views in Georgia. But a quality restaurant with a picture-perfect view? That's a whole other story. Fortunately, there are places like UP on the Roof in Alpharetta. Perched high above the town, diners can enjoy panoramic views while enjoying some of the region's finest in food and drink. It's perfect for a date night, friends' evening out, or, perhaps just a solo meal with a good book.

A unique rooftop experience is waiting for you at UP on the Roof in Alpharetta, Georgia. The restaurant has a handful of locations in the region, currently one in Anderson and Greenville, South Carolina, with one in the works for Charlottesville, Virginia. If you're someone who values ambiance, UP is an excellent choice. The Alpharetta rooftop kitchen is perched above Liberty Hall, one of the highest points in town, boasting panoramic views of the region. Plus, you can even spot Kennesaw Mountain in the distance.

So, what can you expect from the menu? There's a focus on small, sharable plates with food sourced locally and prepared creatively. Seasonal ingredients are highlighted with a signature Southern-inspired twist. Stop by Thursdays through Sundays between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and you can look forward to sampling something from the brunch menu. Favorites include homemade biscuits, deviled eggs, and other rotating specials.

Perhaps the most popular section of the menu is the drinks section. Whether you're looking for freshly squeezed juices at brunch or hand-bottled cocktails in the evening, you'll find something memorable here. Plus, there's beer, wine, and some enticing zero-proof options to choose from. If you're curious, you can take a look at the drinks menu beforehand.

Oh, and don't forget dessert. Right now, they're offering a seasonal special called Let's Give 'Em Pumpkin To Talk About, featuring gingerbread cake and pumpkin and mascarpone cream drizzled with espresso-rum syrup.

Gastropubs have exploded in popularity over the last few years. If you're not familiar with the concept, they're quite similar to traditional bars or pubs, but with the addition of elevated bar food. This isn't your typical peanuts-and-basic-burgers menu, but rather culinary delights like you'd find at a more upscale restaurant. Gastropubs also tend to feature a slightly less casual, and more family-friendly, setting than you'll find at your average bar. They're not fine dining or overly stuffy, but they're just fancy enough to make you feel like you're treating yourself to a delectable meal. Augusta, GA is a wonderful town. It's best known nationally as the home of The Masters golf tournament, but there's a surprising amount to do here, and the dining scene is pretty delicious. One neighborhood spot that is absolutely adored by locals is Sheehan's Irish Pub. This fun-filled restaurant serves up delicious brews and food that's some of the best in the city.

Sheehan's is the very definition of a neighborhood gem. It's tucked away in a historic brick home and has been one of the most popular restaurants for Augusta locals since it opened in 2006.
