So without further delay, this is the most mouthwatering ice cream trail in Georgia.
1. Morelli’s Gourmet Ice Cream - 749 Moreland Ave SE # B102, Atlanta, GA 30316
The thing about Morelli’s that makes it so fascinating, is the amalgam of flavors for all the adventurous ice cream eaters out there. Sure they have the classics, too, but if you’re looking to switch your ice cream trip up a bit and snag some Blueberry Rose Water or Raspberry Cheesecake ice cream then this is your spot.
2. Vintage Frozen Custard - 1021 Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318
Vintage Frozen Custard is a rare gem in Atlanta which features some of the most deliciously simple sweet treats around. Expect to see some pretty long lines at this small shop during the summer, especially around dusk, when the sweet tooth craving hits the hardest.
3. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream - 1198 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta, GA 30318
Ahh, Jeni's. You can always find the richest, sweetest, smoothest ice cream at Jeni's. Not to mention the most versatile flavors. I mean, where else can you sink your spoon into a sweet potato pecan praline ice cream?
4. Jake’s Ice Cream - 660 Irwin St NE, Atlanta, GA 30312
What makes Jake's Ice Cream so darn spectacular, and a MUST on this trail is that they switch up their homemade flavors as often as you can say "waffle cone". The flavors range in variety from super unique--root beer, Butterfinger, and red velvet cake cream, to more classic flavors.
5. Queen of Cream - 701 Highland Ave NE #1, Atlanta, GA 30312
This is some of the best, in-house ice cream to exist in Georgia. Made in small, divinely tasting batches, you can get a variety of flavors that you never would have thought existed. A locally owned and operated shop in the heart of the city that is totally worth the sweet experience.
6. Honeysuckle Gelato - Ponce City Market, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
Some people call this the best gelato in the South, and while yes, it may not be considered "ice cream" by certain Webster Dictionary definitions, it is still darn delicious and fits this trail perfectly. Get the Brown Butter with peanuts or the Key Lime Pie Shake--you won't regret it.
7. Butter & Cream - 416 Church St, Decatur, GA 30030
Butter & Cream is an ice cream shop for all, with a creative blend of flavors paired with the ability to get a little fun and fresh with your toppings. No matter your age, this ice cream trail stop will surely delight your tastebuds...and your spirit.
8. Daddy O’Brien’s Irish Ice Cream Pub - 5910 Suwanee Dam Rd, Sugar Hill, GA 30518

9. Mountain Fresh Creamery - 6615 Cleveland Hwy, Clermont, GA 30527
