Over the last few years, craft breweries in Georgia have really exploded in popularity. It feels like the Atlanta area, in particular, has numerous beer companies where you can grab a locally-brewed glass. If you live in South Georgia, don't worry: there are quite a few options there, too! One of the best is Georgia Beer Co. in Valdosta. It just so happens to be Georgia's southernmost brewery, only about half an hour north of the Florida state line. The best thing about this little hidden gem? It's family-friendly! I'm not personally a huge fan of beer, but there are other drinks to enjoy at breweries, and you'll always find a fun atmosphere and good company. Check this brewery in Valdosta, GA out:
Valdosta is such an underrated city. Its population is nearly 60,000, so it's certainly not a small town, but it has a homegrown feel and strong sense of community that makes it seem smaller than it is.
Georgia Beer Co. is quite active in the local community. You'll often see the brewery represented at local festivals and events, and the founders are graduates of Valdosta State University.
Georgia Beer Co. features a charming beer garden and is surrounded by plenty of parking. It's not far from many of the other attractions in downtown Valdosta.
The brewery opened up in 2014, and the beer is brewed right on site.
Most of the beers are traditional, but Georgia-grown ingredients are used whenever possible. Several of the beers have won awards.
While Georgia Beer Co. doesn't sell food, food trucks are typically at the brewery through much of the week. You're also welcome to bring your own food.
The entire facility is family-friendly, and leashed dogs are allowed in the outdoor beer garden (just make sure to clean up after them!).
This brewery in Valdosta, GA is such a great outing that the entire family can enjoy, even the four-legged kids!
