4 Way Lunch in Georgia is an old school restaurant that has been around since the 1930s.
The tiny, roadside restaurant was started by a man named Fred Garrison who began with only a sack filled with meat and some buns on the corner of Main Street and Gilmer Street in Cartersville.
Back then, the road was known as Dixie Highway and was quite popular, with plenty of people dropping in for a quick bite of breakfast and lunch.
Fred’s son, Ernest, eventually took over the business in 1972, cementing it as one of the best local restaurants in the area.
4 Way Lunch was once even dubbed "Georgia’s Oldest Restaurant Without a Telephone" serving patrons without ever installing a phone.
The menu is no-frills starting with breakfast, with popular items like plates of eggs, bowls of grits, pancakes, hash browns, biscuits, and more…
…then comes lunch, where you can feast on cheeseburgers and hot dogs, each with the most popular “All The Way” option which involves drowning the plate in chili, mustard, and onions.
Don’t forget about ordering up a dessert, either, because the homemade cobbler topped with ice cream is a fan-favorite.
What started with a sack of meat, a few buns, and a desire to feed the locals has ended up being one of the oldest restaurants in the state.
