Mac’s Club Deuce located in South Beach, Florida is considered to be the oldest bar in Miami, established back in the 1920s.
What this historic bar has accomplished over the years, without really changing much of the style or atmosphere is quite impressive.
In a city that continually keeps evolving with the times, Mac’s has stayed true to its colors - which is likely why it’s been named one of the best bars in America as well as being the place visitors go to get a taste of Old Florida.
This bar has retained much of its dark noir-type charm, quickly becoming the place where you can have a cheap drink, shoot some pool, and strike up a conversation with a stranger.
Opened back in 1933 as Club Deuce, the bar eventually was purchased from Mac Klein, a World War II vet who moved to Miami for the weather in the 1960s.
Eventually, Mac added his first name in front of the bar, and nothing else much changed since then. When the hit show Miami Vice used Mac’s Club as a filming location, much of the neon green and pink went up on the walls and hasn’t come down since.
While Mac Klein sadly passed away at 101 years old in 2016, the legend of this bar and the simplicity of its history lives on each day.
Head on over to Mac’s Club Deuce in Miami, Florida for a memorable trip back in time and an ice-cold beer.
