1. Matsuhisa

Cheers from excitable foodies and sushi aficionados rang out all over Denver when internationally acclaimed Chef Nobu announced that he was bringing his meticulously creative, perfectly balanced Japanese dishes to Matsuhisa in Cherry Creek. His philosophy is to put his own heart into each and every dish and to give his customers "little surprises that will lead them to make discoveries about their own latent tastes." With restaurants on three continents, Chef Nobu has truly created the holy grail of sushi and Japanese cuisine, and we're lucky to have him on the scene!

2. Bar Dough

What Nobu did for sushi in the Mile High, Chef Max MacKissock has done with Bar Dough, his mecca for Italian food lovers in LoHi. Hand-crafted pastas, housemade sodas, and innovative pizzas baked in a hand-tiled imported wood-fired oven, are just a few of the many reasons to flock to Bar Dough. (Grilled octopus, braised lamb shank, and tiramisu with brown butter whipped mascarpone are just a few more.) Bravissimo, Bar Dough!

3. The Preservery

This hip, farmhouse-chic husband-and-wife-owned eatery and bakery has become a happening, industrial hub of the cutting-edge, creative community of RiNo. They're serving up impeccably fresh, innovative dishes from breakfast til dinner, using what they call "storied ingredients." They don't just throw out labels like local and organic; they know the origin of every single product they purchase. (Just, wow!) Don't miss their on-site market, craft cocktails, live music, and for goodness sakes, don't pass on the desserts and baked goods. I'll have a whiskey bread pudding, please!

4. Pop's Place

Another down-home spot dishing up gluttonously soul-satifying comfort food, is Pop's Place in the Ballpark neighborhood. This joint is known for dishes like chicken and waffles, sourdough pancakes, "Chicken Pop's Pie," and well, pretty much anything oozing with warm, delicious, gooey goodness. Thanks, Pop!

5. Masterpiece Kitchen

Renowned Denver chef, restaurant owner, and mastermind Justin Brunson has created this mouthwatering mash-up inspired by his Masterpiece Deli, Old Major, and Royal Rooster. This sleek space in Lowry with an insanely gorgeous, South-Beach-chic oversized patio is a great spot to sit back and unwind with a craft beer (half of which are brewed within 10 miles of the restaurant) and a big ole plate of green chile cheese fries. Share if you must, but I think I'll keep them all to myself!

6. Brider

For more masterfully crafted sandwiches and other delectable rotisserie-inspired delights, head over to Brider in LoHi. Considering their one-of-a-kind wagyu french dip, massive meatball sub, and house sausage and cheese stuffed pretzel, I might just make this new haunt my bridegroom.

7. DAE GEE Korean BBQ

As their name and slogan implies, Dae Gee Korean BBQ is the perfect spot to "pig out"and go hog wild on some dynamically spiced dishes that will please any progressive palate. For approachable, traditional Korean food with American twists, try Dae Gee, and you'll be livin' high on the hog!

8. Hop Alley

When you hear the name Hop Alley, you don't necessarily think of Chinese cuisine...but think again. Restauranteur Tommy Lee of Uncle is serving up family-style regional Chinese dishes with modern inspirations, in this cozy, hip hangout in RiNo. "Cheers to the new Chinatown!"

9. The Crafty Fox

On the flip side, the name says it all at this spot in Sunnyside that offers craft everything (from beer to pizza to chicken wings) in an industrial space with floor-to-ceiling windows and roomy patios with great city views. Check out their happy hour Tuesday-Friday from 3-6pm and get down on some crafty cuisine!

10. MAS KAOS Pizzeria & Tacqueira

Speaking of crafty, who'd have thought a marriage of wood-fired pizzas and street style tacos would be SO GOOD!? (Well, apparently the geniuses who combined siblings Uno Mas Tacos and Kaos Pizzeria to create this hot spot in Berkeley.) Their sunny sidewalk patio, open, airy dining space, and indoor/outdoor bar may draw you in, but you'll stay for the farm-to-table street tacos and wood-fired Naples-style pizzas. Oh, and happy hour from 11:30am-6pm! (Yep, you heard me).
