Even if you're someone who doesn't like to think about Christmas until Thanksgiving is over, it's worth putting your reservations aside to plan ahead for some holiday events that are coming up in Delaware. One of the biggest and brightest holiday festivals opens up the weekend before Thanksgiving, and runs each day until New Years' Eve. If you're looking for a fun way to get your whole family in the holiday spirit, attend the Lewes Winter Wonderfest for a drive through light show, skating rink, and more!
In November, hundreds of volunteers head to Cape Henlopen State Park to set up the incredible Winter Wonderfest.
The highlight of this annual holiday festival is a drive-through light show featuring thousands of shimmering bulbs.
Each year, new displays take their place among old-time favorites, and families take the ride to see them all.
Many of them are Christmas themed, but there are plenty of inclusive holiday displays as well!
Don't worry, after you make the drive through, you don't have to go home yet!
This entire section of the park is turned into a total wonderland! Christmas Village is perfect for shopping...
...VisitDelaware's ice rink is the best place to test your skills...
... and before the end of the night, you'll find an open fire to roast some s'mores.
Winter Wonderfest is quickly becoming Delaware's favorite holiday tradition, and you'll love your night here in the park.
Winter Wonderfest is ongoing from November 17 through December 31. Each attraction has specific hours, and you can buy tickets and double check the daily schedule on their website, here.
