Delaware is a little state that has a huge amount of state pride, proving that sometimes big things come in small packages. One other thing we've got a lot of is great restaurants - from neighborhood gems to gigantic elegant DuPont restaurants. In keeping with the theme of our little state, though, check out each of these tiny Delaware restaurants for a meal you won't soon forget.

1. Po' Boy's Fresh Catch and Creole, Milton

Po Boy's in Milton is the best place to go for soul food and seafood in Milton, for sure. The grits are some of the best in Slower Lower, and you can't go wrong with the jambalaya, crawfish po boy, or the delicious fried oysters.

2. Perucho's Peruvian Chicken, Newark

I can't say enough good things about Peruchos - which might be my favorite of these tiny Delaware restaurants. Try the pollo la brasa, and every single side dish they have. There's no place in Delaware where you'll find fresher, more flavorful chicken. 700 Capitol Trl, Newark, DE 19711

3. Restaurante Mi Laurita, Georgetown

This tiny Mexican restaurant in Georgetown is big on portions, that's for sure. Their fajitas are my favorite in the state, and I've never had a bad meal here. Find it in the charming town and it might just become your new go-to on Taco Tuesday.110 N Race St

4. Flying Fish Cafe, Fenwick

The Tuna Tacos at this tiny establishment are HUGE on flavor. Absolutely mouthwatering. The atmosphere here is beachy and cozy at the same time, so it's a great way to experience one of the quieter Delaware beach towns. 300 Coastal Hwy

5. Bellefonte Cafe, Wilmington

This vegan and vegetarian friendly cafe in Wilmington is one of the best cafes in Delaware - their quinoa vegan burger is out of this world, and they go above and beyond on their hummus platters. 804 Brandywine Blvd

6. Jimmy's Kitchen, Fenwick Island

Jimmy's Kitchen is just the thing you need after a night out in Fenwick Island or any of the other beaches. Their SOS with eggs (pictured above) is the best kind of diner food. Unlike typical diners with rooms and rooms of seating, though, Jimmy's is tiny! 1300 Coastal Hwy

7. Thai Style Restaurant, Dover

Thai Style's home grown herbs make all the difference in their delicious dishes, like this pineapple red curry, or their flavorful dumplings. The tiny interior is well-arranged and well decorated, and it really adds to the charm. 1855 S Dupont Hwy

8. El Coqui

El Coqui is the very definition of a hole in the wall, but this tiny (and interestingly decorated) Mexican restaurant is a gem in an area with not too many great restaurants. One of my favorite tiny Delaware restaurants, and they serve great fajitas! 7821 Bay Rd, Frederica, DE 19946

9. Simaron Steak Shop, Dover

Simaro is the best sub shop in Dover, and their cheesesteak sandwiches are worth cramming into the tiny shop during lunch rush. 415 W Loockerman St
