One of our favorite spots on Market Street often gets overlooked due to the sheer volume of eateries downtown, but it's well worth a visit if you like burgers and milkshakes. The Farmer and the Cow is a burger bar and casual restaurant on Market Street in Downtown Wilmington, Delaware.
There are ten different burgers on the menu, plus the occasional special edition. The spicy "Moo Caliente" features habanero peppers, ghost jack cheese, Carolina Reaper aioli, and onion straws. It's topped with avocado crema that cuts the spice just a bit!
Other creations include the "That’s What Brie Said" with bourbon pear, prosciutto, balsamic glaze, and brie, and the more classic Rodeo King burger with bacon, BBQ sauce, and onion straws.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. An Instagram ad caught my eye during a late-night scroll session and I was intrigued by the colorful compartments and versatility of the bag, which can be carried as a duffle or as a backpack (I prefer the backpack for even weight distribution and airport navigation.) Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. Dairy Queen has been around as a franchise since 1940, serving up delicious ice cream confections (as well as burgers and fries) ever since. For 68 years, this Dairy Queen in Lewes, Delaware has passed through many hands and been renovated several times, yet has remained in this spot since it opened. It is currently owned by the local Diehl family.
With a menu full of "scrumpdillyishus" treats to choose from, this Dairy Queen will also fill you up with burgers, fish sandwiches, chicken, and much more.
The entrance boasts a collection of photos showing off the history of locals frequenting this location over the decades. Local events are frequently hosted here keeping the community tight-knit.
The banana split with walnuts is a delectable treat with your choice of toppings. Chocolate and whipped cream is a yummy choice, which you'll scarf down before you know it.
The outdoor benches are a perfect way to savor a delicious shake while getting a view of the ocean waves. It's been a favorite local activity for several generations. Entire families love to gather here to spend time together.
You could walk for about 30 seconds and end up right here at Lewes Beach to soak up the sun, do a bit of body surfing, or just sit and enjoy the ocean view as you happily devour your ice cream.
This is the charming neighborhood that surrounds this Dairy Queen. It looks like an absolutely wonderful place to live and the locals are very proud of their small, beautiful, historic town.
The service here is extremely welcoming and friendly, as it has been since 1954. It's why locals come back again and again. This is such a well-loved cornerstone of the Lewes community.
