There's a lot to be said for the simple things. Sipping an iced coffee in the sunshine, surrounded by beautiful plants, chatting with friends...we can think of few nicer ways to spend an afternoon. And you can do just that at Scout Café. This lovely little cafe in Wilmington, Delaware has a beautiful garden oasis where you can relax and enjoy your latte, feeling like you're far from the noise and bustle of the city.
Scout Café opened in 2023, in what was once a neglected office building on Baynard Boulevard. Owner Nicholas Qaabar has transformed the space into a thriving, community-focused cafe.
The interior of the cafe is cozy and welcoming, with carefully selected decor. On a cold or rainy day, it's the perfect place to relax with a warm beverage of your choice.
But it's the outdoor space that we're especially drawn to. Once a forgotten alleyway with old tires and other debris, this space has been transformed into a secret garden oasis in the middle of the city.
With benches made of reclaimed wood and plenty of shade, Scout Café has created a cheerful outdoor dining area - the ideal place to catch up with friends over a great cup of coffee.
Carefully selected decor adds a bohemian vibe to this garden cafe.
Scout Café even consulted with the Brandywine Zoo to choose plants that are native to Delaware for its little oasis.
Sit back among the plants, relax, and enjoy a well-made coffee while you soak up the sunshine.
Feeling hungry? There are plenty of fresh, delicious breakfast and lunch options on the menu, too. Breakfast sandwiches are served all day! This little cafe in Wilmington, Delaware has a ton to offer.
For hours and the full cafe menu, visit the Scout Café website. (And speaking of garden oases in the middle of Wilmington, have you heard of Goodstay Gardens?)
