One of the most hidden dining spots in the state, Marley's Cafe is located on an island just off the city's riverbank. That's right! Essex Island Marina is home to a Jamaican island paradise. It's an incredibly unique experience that you won't want to miss. The restaurant is only open from Fourth of July weekend to the end of October so hurry over before the season ends. They serve breakfast and lunch and it's always delicious. Check it out:
Marley's Cafe is a beach house experience that won't break the bank. At night, little white lights line the roof and umbrellas, creating a magical evening you're sure to enjoy. This waterfront spot is nothing short of enchanting.
Inside you'll find a bright, beach themed space, though most visitors opt to stay outdoors. Especially on those warm summer days with light breezes. You'll feel like you're on vacation.
But one of the biggest perks is how you get there. No need to have a boat of your own, the restaurant provides a 6 passenger ferry to get you across the water. It's a quick ride, taking roughly 1 minute, but it will make you feel like you've discovered a secret paradise.
Enjoy the wide open space and dock views as you dine before returning to the ferry for a lift back to your car. This place will have you feeling like royalty.

Why We Love It: It's taken several trips for me to figure out my perfect "weekender bag that's TSA approved," but I've found my perfect carry on with the TOBIQ Colorado 30L. Why I Love It: Fact: Airplanes are notoriously dry, dry, dry. No matter how much water I drink both before and during the flight, I always find myself in a hydration deficit for days. Celebrate this delightful treat at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. On March 7 and 8, this exciting attraction will transform into a wonderland full of petting zoos, ice skating, and - of course - pancakes. You're going to have a ball at the First County Bank Maple Syrup Festival in Connecticut.
