There is something special about Connecticut that invites the artistic spirit in every form. Some of the most brilliant artists and writers have had the privilege of calling Connecticut home. This artistry isn't only limited to the creative arts. One of the most important intricate parts of craftsmanship goes into the creation of delectable meals and the ambiance of restaurants such as The Beamhouse in Glastonbury.
Located in the historic tannery building near Glastonbury Center, The Beamhouse pays tribute to the original mill and its owners with memorabilia throughout the restaurant as well as incorporating aspects of the original mill design.
Originally opened in the early 1800s by Isaac Broadhead and Edward Hubbard, the tannery was bought by the Roser family in 1886. The Roser family carried on a centuries-old family tradition of creating the highest-quality leather goods from bookbinding to saddles to upholstery until they sold the building in the 1960s.
The converted mill keeps the rustic charm and appearance of an old-fashioned farmhouse mixed with modern amenities. Most importantly, the spirit of craftsmanship continues with the preparation of each meal made in The Beamhouse.
That quality begins with the simple tastiness of brunch. Whether you prefer to enjoy Sunday brunch on the patio or you prefer to pick it up for a Sunday Funday on the go, you'll love the farm-fresh eggs, fluffy french toast, and smashed browns. You can also choose from small plate options of wings, clams, salads, and unique wood-fired pizzas.
Want something a little lighter for lunch? From Crispy Pig Ear Salad to Sesame Chilled Noodle Salad, you won't find a boring salad in the house. Add your choice of ahi tuna, fish cake, shrimp, or salmon to any dish.
For a heartier appetite, you'll want to try one of The Beamhouse's thick, juicy burgers with crisp bacon, mustard ale cheddar, tomato, sprouts, onion rings, and burger sauce. All served on a sesame seed bun. For extra refreshment, be sure to accompany it with a draft beer on tap. Just the thought is mouth-watering!
From wood-fired pies to roasted duck breast, each dish at The Beamhouse is a visual and taste-satisfying work of art. Make your reservations or order online by visiting The Beamhouse website or call (860) 430-6922.
