The old Stapleton International Airport's air traffic control tower, which has stood vacant for more than 20 years, will soon come back to life as the new home to Denver's second Punch Bowl Social location. This iconic structure has been given a new purpose, but its historic character has been preserved in the remodeling process. The end result will be a one-of-a-kind experience where you can eat, drink, and be merry all under one (historic) roof.
A delicious dinner that leads to bowling, that then leads to belting out ballads in a Karaoke studio...
If you've never had the Punch Bowl Social experience, prepare yourself for made-from-scratch comfort food, unique drinks, and old school entertainment (bowling alley, shuffle board, vintage arcade games, etc.) all wrapped into one memorable location. You will find this new outpost at 3120 Uinta St.
The air traffic control tower was the last remaining piece of the Stapleton International Airport, standing tall and just begging to be filled with something amazing.
This transformation has been a nearly three year project. Punch Bowl Social Stapleton will host their long awaited grand opening event on November 18.
It will be open to guests with tickets (already sold out) from 7-9 p.m. But don't worry. If you're willing to stay up a little late, they are opening their doors to the public after 9 p.m.
Punch Bowl Social will occupy nearly 32,000 square feet of the air traffic control tower, utilizing the first 2 floors for the restaurant/bar/entertainment. The third floor will hold corporate offices.
Unfortunately, the elevator will not go beyond the third floor as the higher levels are not ADA compliant.
Grab a few friends and get ready for a restaurant experience you won't soon forget. Here are a few tempting peeks at menu items that will get your stomach growling.
Made from scratch chicken and waffles...
Scrumptious street tacos...
Top it all off with a boozy shake or any one of a number of tasty concoctions..
Of course you've got to try their punch (with a little kick), like the Watermelon Polo Bowl which is served in your choice of single, four, or eight person sizes.
Or, you may just want to keep it simple with a can of PBR or an old school drink like their Mason Mule.
And, don't worry...the new Punch Bowl Social will soon be open for brunch as well.
The possibilities for having a good time are endless.
You probably thought I mentioned it all with bowling, arcade games, and karaoke. But wait, there's more! Punch Bowl Social also offers table games, ping pong, darts and a photo booth. You can also step outside to play corn hole, ping pong, or issue a challenge on one of their two regulation-sized bocce courts.
The Stapleton location will have a "dirty modern" decor with deer antler chandeliers and airline-themed decorative elements.
As Punch Bowl Social began preserving this iconic piece of Denver's history, people started sending memorabilia from the original Stapleton Airport that will be included as a nod to the original purpose of the structure.
The Stapleton site will be the 10th Punch Bowl Social to open in the nation, with other locations including Portland, Detroit, and Cleveland. A handful of new locations are on the books to pop up in other cities soon.
