They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but do you know what is even more significant? The meal between breakfast and lunch, more commonly known as brunch. Thanks to you, our amazing readers, we have compiled a list of a few of the best brunch spots in the state, which include:
1. Jelly Cafe (Denver)
"Eat more jelly" (which includes these out-of-this-world Eggs Benedict)? Well, if I must...
2. Village Smithy (Carbondale)
Several of you spoke and we listened; The Village Smithy not only has one of the best brunches in Carbondale, but in the entire state.
3. Patio Pancake Place (Salida)
A company whose motto is "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Pancakes" that also serves an award-winning breakfast can have my business any day! (Also, I realize this isn't a picture of pancakes, but it just goes to show that everything they make is fresh and delicious.)
4. Pinocchios (Longmont)
My nose would be growing if I didn't tell you about this authentic Italian restaurant's stellar breakfast selection, which includes freshly baked goods, omelets, and so much more.
5. Fat Cat Cafe (Grand Lake)
As somebody who has frequented the Fat Cat during several family vacations, I can vouch for its fresh and divine tasting brunch buffet.
6. The Pantry (Green Mountain Falls)
When their hot chocolate looks (and tastes) like this, who cares what the rest of the menu looks like? (FYI: It's all AMAZING.)
7. Spruce Lodge (South Fork)
The Spruce Lodge isn't only a restaurant that serves the most beautiful homemade rolls known to man; it is also a charming lodge. Staycation, anyone?
8. Rosie's Little Bavarian (Glenwood Springs)
If you knew my last name (both maiden and married), you would know that my heart soars for any type of made-from-scratch German foods... especially these schnitzel and eggs!
9. Campus Cafe (Alamosa)
If you are a Colorado native, you owe it to yourself to try what several of our readers have referred to as the best green chili in the state. (Are you headed to Campus Cafe yet?)
10. Doug's (Colorado Springs)
What'll it be? Sugary sweet toast (pictured)? A "Sassy" breakfast sandwich? An omelette? All of the above? Order what you like; we won't judge.
11. Backstreet Bistro (Ouray)
I cannot fathom a better way to start the day than with an order of Backstreet's Huevos Rancheros, served with a side of this stunning view.
12. Meadow Mountain Cafe (Allenspark)
The poster child for the perfect sticky bun... Need I say more?
13. Creekside Cafe and Grill (Steamboat Springs)
I can picture it now... spending the day on the slopes at Steamboat and waking up the next morning to devour this Wafflelaughagus (a waffle with gravy, cheese, and choices of meat and eggs)...
14. Marion’s of the Rockies (Idaho Springs)
Let's just say there's a reason Marion's has been serving up one of the best breakfasts in Colorado for nearly 35 years. (Hint: it's the pancakes... and everything else!)
Which Colorado establishment serves your favorite brunch?
