As much as we all love Cincinnati, sometimes you just need to get away -- or at least to feel like you have! If you'd like to escape without leaving town, head to the westside and visit Cabana on the River. This large outdoor restaurant and bar is the place to be in the summer, and it's a little slice of paradise right here in Cincinnati.
Perfectly situated right on the Ohio River, Cabana was once a hidden secret.
Today, however, it's a lively hotspot on the westside of Cincinnati. Its fun, tropical theme, waterfront location, tasty food, and vast offering of drinks all make it a destination restaurant.
The restaurant is completely outdoors, with a large deck surrounding a covered portion.
It's large, with lots of tables, so even if you have to wait a bit (they don't take reservations), you certainly won't spend much time in line. Plus, there's plenty of scenery to take in while you wait.
Aside from the location, the food and drinks also keep people coming back.
Cabana offers a diverse menu with favorites including the Steak-on-a-Stick and Pretzel Stick appetizer. Don't forget the burger, which is ginormous. The food is served simply on disposable plates, but the menu is full of tasty options. The bar is just as appealing with any frozen concoction you can think of, several beer choices, as well as other specialty and soft drinks.
Nighttime at Cabana is festive and truly feels like a vacation.
The glowing palm trees will make you forget you're in Cincinnati and the atmosphere is lively and entertaining. Because of its size and set up, Cabana is the perfect spot for big groups, but is also great for a date night or a family meal out.
On the weekends, Cabana hosts live music, adding to the vacation vibe.
You can enjoy your meal then grab a drink and check out the band, with the Ohio River running behind you. Can you imagine anything more wonderful and exciting?
No matter where you live, you should make a trip to Cabana on the River at least once.
If you're from the westside, you'll probably run into someone you know, and if not, you'll still be welcomed into this tropical paradise -- without venturing far from home.
