We have quite a few beloved events in Cincinnati, from Oktoberfest to Reds Opening Day to the Labor Day weekend fireworks. But we are now in the middle of what may be the best week ever in Cincinnati - especially if you love food. September 25th through October 1st is Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Week and over 30 area restaurants are participating! Each amazing dining destination has a prix fixe three-course menu that will cost either $25 or $35 per person. This means you can try some of the absolute best restaurants in Cincinnati at a steal! Since we only have 5 days left and there are quite a few restaurants to choose from, we narrowed it down to 7 of our favorites that simply can't be ignored during this week of Cincinnati dining heaven.
1. Somm Wine Bar - 3105 Price Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45205
Located in the vibrant Incline District in Price Hill, Somm Wine Bar is relatively new to the Cincinnati dining scene and now is the perfect time to fall in love with it. Their restaurant week choices include items like Butternut Squash Soup, Mediterranean Sea Bass, and Oreo Cheesecake. You can expect beautiful presentation, as shown in the photo above, and be sure to enjoy some time out on their enchanting patio.
2. Behle Street by Sheli - 2220 Grandview Dr., Fort Mitchell, KY 41017
You may have to cross the river into Kentucky to get to this hidden gem, but it is well worth the effort. Behle Street by Sheli is in an unassuming spot on the corner of a small strip mall, but you can tell from the charming exterior and patio that it's something special. The food is outstanding and the staff is over-the-top friendly and welcoming. Sample menu items such as their delicious Cafe Wedge Salad and Braised Short Ribs among others, and wash it all down with a Kentucky appropriate Maker's Manhattan.
3. The Mercer OTR - 1324 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH 45202
If you haven't gotten around to trying this OTR favorite for fine dining, head there this week. It doesn't seem possible, but the food is even more stunning than the beautiful interior and yet you'll feel very comfortable at this fine dining restaurant. One of the selections for Restaurant Week - pork tenderloin with sweet potato puree, navy beans, and port plums - is enough to make your mouth water just from reading about it.
4. BrewRiver GastroPub - 2062 Riverside Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45202
Located right across the street from the river in the historic East End, BrewRiver GastroPub is the perfect spot for an outstanding casual meal this week, or any week for that matter. You'll never be disappointed with anything on their menu and their selected options this week include their infamous Curried Beef Short Rib Gravy Poutine. It's reason enough to visit!
5. Django Western Taco - 4172 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45223
There's much more to Django Western than the delicious tacos. This Northside restaurant moved locations over the summer, but they remain on Hamilton Avenue. Now is a good time to go check out the new spot and sample menu items like the Charred Eggplant Mushroom Enchilada.
6. Cinque Ristorante by Nicola's - 9415 Montgomery Rd., Montgomery, OH 45242
Cinque, in the heart of Montgomery, specializes in Italian fare and is the fifth restaurant by Nicola & Maureen Pietoso. Enjoy beautifully created Italian menu items such as Potato Gnocchi and Braised Short Rib and relax in this lovely restaurant that's become a Cincinnati favorite.
7. The Presidents Room at The Phoenix - 812 Race St., Cincinnati, OH 45202
Restaurant Week is a wonderful opportunity to try one of those stunningly beautiful fine dining restaurants that you would typically reserve for a special occasion. The Presidents Room located inside The Phoenix downtown will enchant you in every way, from the grand decor to the impressive choices on their specified menu.
