1. El Capitan Taqueria - 1198 Folsom Street, San Francisco, 94103
This is a relatively new spot, so start the trail and explore into new taco territory in SOMA. First, the tacos may be expensive, however they are quite large and served on fry bread, which makes the taco soft and crisp all at the same time. Recommended is the prawn or pork cheek taco.
2. Lolo - 974 Valencia Street, San Francisco, 94110
This is a place to experience creative tacos. Lolo masters the tacos by showcasing crispy tasty portions in an imaginative way. Recommended are the avocado tacos and of course the Tuna Tacon. Also, of course the Taco Tropical featuring the amazing flavorful shrimp tacos.
3. Taqueira Cancun - 2288 Mission Street, San Francisco, 94110
Some claim that these tacos are slightly smaller, open-faced burritos. However, Taqueira Cancun offers a healthy and massive taco that will satiate almost anyone. The pastor meat is recommended: the pork is rich, so this is a tasty taco option.
4. Taqueria Vallarta - 3033 24th Street, San Francisco, 94110
Vallarta serves large tacos especially the slow-cooked beef stew. This is an authentic taco spot that will please the snobby Mexican food fans. Lastly, Vallarta is known for its huge bottles of Mexican Coca Cola as well.
5. La Oaxaqueña - 2128 Mission Street, San Francisco, 94110
