Not only is the food delicious, but the cozy vibe and historic atmosphere ensure that you'll fall in love with this place by the end of your meal. Check it out:
Located in the charming little town of Live Oak in Sutter County, Pasquini's Fine Italian Food has been serving up authentic Italian cuisine for multiple generations. They've definitely been around the block a time or two, and it shows in every bite.
It all started in 1930 when Addenaco Pasquini, a local farmer, purchased a piece of property that would become Pasquini's Grocery and Gas Station. Although the business started out selling only groceries and fuel, it wasn't long before it garnered a reputation for the most delicious Italian food in Northern California.
During the Depression era, Pasquini would serve gigantic Italian dinners in the store's basement. Each dinner included Pasquini's famous bootleg wine and it cost $1 per person. It was hard times back then, but people were still willing to pay the money for one of these amazing dinners. That's definitely saying something!
The store didn't officially become a restaurant until 1971. By this time, Pasquini's son Bernard had taken over and completed a few renovations which included closing the grocery store. Pasquini's transitioned to serving food full time and the crowds in the dining room began to grow. The rest, they say, is history.
Today, Chef Angelo Micheli is the owner of Northern California's oldest Italian restaurant. A lot has changed about the restaurant over the years, but the authentic food has not. Classic Italian dishes are still the sole focus here, including iconic entrees like Spaghetti with your choice of sauce, Tagliatelle Bolognese, Chicken Piccata, and Shrimp Scampi.
Pasquini's is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m for regular dinner service. However, they also host a popular Pasta Night every Monday from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Whenever you decide to drop by, you're bound to walk away more than satisfied.
See for yourself why Pasquini's is a local legend in the Live Oak community and stop by for an authentic taste of Italy. We think you'll see that this longstanding eatery is definitely worth the hype.
