Hayes Valley is in the Western Addition area of San Francisco. The main commercial strip of Hayes Valley stretches from Hayes Street and Gough to Hayes and Webster near the Painted Ladies of Alamo Square.
1. Arlequin Cafe & Food —

Start your day on the edge of Hayes Valley at this cozy neighborhood cafe. Arlequin is a beautiful and affordable spot to grab a quick coffee, tea, or drink, and hang out with friends. Make sure to enjoy the street-side seating or the massive outdoor patio in the rear.
2. The Grove — 301 Hayes Street, 94102
Another spot on the edge of Hayes Valley is the Grove. The Grove is a warm, woodsy, intimate spot that serves up mouthwatering comfort food. This is a great place for brunch or sandwiches. Enjoy the creative, indoor/ outdoor dining areas, as well.
3. Absinthe Brasserie & Bar — 398 Hayes Street, 94102
Absinthe serves rich and delicious French and American Food, and is an ideal for brunch. Absinthe also happens to be one of the longest-running, landmark dining institutions in Hayes Valley.
4. Rich Table — 199 Gough Street, 94102
Rich Table offers a fresh take on Northern California cuisine. Expect a creative menu, wine list, and cocktail list that showcase a seasonal San Francisco style. Some of the more adventurous dishes include bone marrow.
5. Souvla — 517 Hayes Street, 94102
If you're attempting to tackle all of these phenomenal eateries in one day, enjoy authentic Greek food for either dessert or more food. Be sure to order one of their popular dishes like the Greek-style lamb Salad, or Baklava Crumble Frozen Greek Yogurt. Yum!
6. Biergarten — 424 Octavia Street, 94102
If you're lucky to be in Hayes Valley on a nice day, you'll enjoy having a drink outside at the German style Biergarten. As much as we love wine in this city, this beer spot is awesome for both the ambiance and German beer action.
7. Smitten Ice Cream —

Once you're ready to leave, make sure to go to Patricia's Green Park in the middle of Hayes Valley for one-of-a-kind ice cream with off the wall and eclectic flavors. This is great old-fashioned ice cream.
