There's nothing like living in Buffalo, but there's something pretty special about the fact that you can be in a more rural area within just a short amount of time. Unfortunately, with work and the obligations that come with a busy life, it can be difficult to take a moment to explore outside the city limits. That's why we love this little bakery. One step inside and it'll feel like you've gone to the country!
At first glance, Five Points Bakery just looks like a big city building.
Given that it's technically IN the city, the rough first sight doesn't surprise.
But, get a little closer and you'll see how special it is.
What first looks like an imposing building becomes wood covered and inviting.
Walk inside and you'll be greeted by the unmistakable smell of bread baking and coffee brewing.
A large menu of options means you could easily eat all your meals here... and we wouldn't be surprised if you did!
While the freshly baked bread is great, it's the Five Points Bakery commitment to sourcing locally produced ingredients that really makes this spot special.
They respect the area, the ingredients, and the producers who make the ingredients all possible.
The bakery itself includes a fully open kitchen, allowing visitors to see exactly what's going on to create the magical baked goods every day.
Five Points Bakery is committed to growing as people, growing as a business and, perhaps most notably, growing the community.
If community means coming together to dig into hearty bread and local butter, consider us in!
This is the beautiful marble rye served to eat-in with a host of accompaniments.
Their whole grain cinnamon rolls are a Buffalo tradition.
You can walk in for a fresh one (our favorite option!), get them frozen for later, or pick up some that are unbaked to finish them yourself at home.
The loaves of bread baked daily are 100% whole grain, produced with local grains that have been stone-ground right at the bakery.
The flour used in the bread is soaked for an entire day, making easier to digest, even if you're sensitive to gluten. Each bread is blended with organic, local, and seasonal ingredients that don't have any hormones or antibiotics. Then they're hand formed and baked on stones to create the most hearty bread.
They even offer bags containing the ends of bread to ensure that nothing is wasted and giving you the opportunity to taste different varieties. For just $1!
We recommend the full experience, but if you can't make it into the bakery, look for them at local farmers' markets throughout the area.
Five Points Bakery is located at 44 Brayton St., Buffalo. You can call them on 716-884-8888, check them out online here, or visit their Facebook page for more information
